Looking for new craft ideas? How about ribbon crafts!

Come learn how to make beautiful bows and flowers out of ribbon. We’ll be trying four crafts out of The Complete Photo Guide to Ribbon Crafts, including a ribbon rose and a five-pedaled flower. They're perfect for hair accessories or brooches or even decorating gifts. All materials will be provided. Some crafts will require simple sewing.

Fancy Felt Pins & Hair Clips

Join us for an evening of making decorative pins and hair clips out of felt and other embellishments. You’ll cut out your shapes, jazz them up, and sew and glue them into place. All materials will be provided, just bring your creativity!

Roses Are Red, Valentines Are Too!

Come to the Pittsfield Branch Library on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. to make some Valentine cards for the special people in your life.
Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles . . . everybody likes to get Valentine's Day cards. We'll be making beautiful tissue paper flowers
to go with the cards. This is for preschool - Grade 5 but all are welcome. Supplies will be provided.

You can also make cards for patients at the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. We'll deliver those cards for you.
If you can't make it to the Saturday program, you can drop off Valentines cards at any AADL location from Feb. 5 - 11.
When making your card, please remember: sign it with your first name and leave it unsealed; do not use glitter, and please do not
include messages about getting well or feeling better - many of the patients are in the hospital for a long time.

Stay tuned for another upcoming UMS Education Workshop, which is happening on March 12, 4:30 - 6:30pm at the Downtown Library, Multi-Purpose Room. This will be a 'Reading Culture Book Club' where participants will be reading, India Calling.

Once Upon a Winter's Day

Where My Peeps At?

Block Printing Workshop

Tuesday, December 4 | 6:30-8:30pm | Pittsfield | Grades 6-Adult

In this workshop you will create a design, carve the design into a soft linoleum block with the proper tools, and then print the image onto paper or note cards. This is your chance to create something to hang on your wall, or perhaps design a holiday card to send out.

We will supply all the tools necessary, you supply the creativity! If you have something you’d like to print on, or have your own tools, feel free to bring them. Check out some of AADL’s books on block printing for a spark of ideas.

This DIY event is for Grades 6- Adult, and takes place at the Pittsfield Branch on Tuesday, December 4, from 6:30-8:30pm. See you there!

Thanksgiving Table Decorations

Make your holiday table one-of-a-kind with decorations made by your children's loving hands.
On Wednesday, November 21, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.at the Pittsfield Branch we will be making table
decorations of all kinds.
There will be turkey centerpieces, colorful placemats, and napkin rings. Kids will also be
able to make a scarecrow centerpiece.
This is for preschoolers through fifth grade.
All supplies will be provided.
