Kid Bits - Gift Ideas
by ryanikoglu
Holiday season is near and folks minds turn to gifting. An excellent title to help make choices on gifts for children of all ages is Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. This book is a consumer tool for "best toys, books & DVDs for kids". The 2007 edition is in all Library Branches. The part I like best is they suggest free or cheap play alternatives among the listings.
Kid Bits - Just Say "NO !"
by ryanikoglu
If you liked the pigeon story in STORYTIME .... lookup other books by Mo Willems. You will find Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus; The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog; and Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late.
Just remember to say "No" at the right times, OK? ok.
Then you will be practiced up and ready for the next Storytime Series that begins the week of November 5, 2007 at your favorite Branch Library.
Kid Bits - Big Opinions
by ryanikoglu
Preschool Storytimes will begin again the week of November 5, 2007. Other than STORYTIMES ... what else does your child KNOW they like (or don't like)? Picture books with definite "opinions" on what to wear are I'm All Dressed! and No Bows!.

The Thursday evening Pittsfield storytime will feature How Do You Make a Baby Smile? by Philemon Sturges as well as the old favorite, Monkey Face, and the very silly, noisy Mortimer. Get ready for a rowdy last storytime of the session!
Kid Bits - Tricky Chicks
by ryanikoglu
We celebrate "Michigan Reads! One State, One Children's Book" this week with a LIVE author program and readings of Big Chickens. Since we're doing chickens in an extra big way, try stories about two of my favorite girls. They each have something to do with chickens and tricks! Pick up a copy of The Chicken Chasing Queen Of Lamar County and Flossie And The Fox.

Night Stories
by Sarah T
This week at preschool storytime it's all about stories in the dark. Baby Owl will try to convince us all that he's not cute, and there will be a few surprise guests during the telling of The Squeaky Door. See you this week at both the Downtown and Pittsfield branches!
Stories in Every Size
by Sarah T
Bill's lost his mom and we need a bed that is just so. Not to mention that Mother Brown is still trying to keep her knees up and our big black boots are still making that bonka bonka noise. So many problems to solve at this week's storytimes at the Downtown and Pittsfield branches!
Movin' Storytime
by StoryLaura
Bounce with dog and dance with dinosaurs and silly bears in this week's storytimes at the Downtown and Pittsfield libraries.
