COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Fantastic Review of Current Environmental Issues in the Great Lakes submitted by chknight on June 28, 2019, 2:29pm As someone who actually works in Great Lakes research, I found this book to be accurate and well-written. Even if you don't work in the field, the author discusses the various issues (e.g. invasive mussels, harmful algal blooms, asian carp) in a way that is riveting and easily understood. I can't recommend this enough for anyone trying to learn a little more about all the issues in the Great Lakes.
great submitted by kevinhe on July 26, 2019, 1:46pm a great book on environment issues of great lakes.
Not what I was expecting submitted by Xris on February 9, 2020, 3:25pm I thought this would be more about the freshwater and how we're poisoning it. Educational to find out about the invasive species and science behind controlling it, and the reason they're here, but just wasn't what I thought it was going to be about.

Excellent submitted by SakanaUshi on August 9, 2021, 9:28pm This will probably be the best non-fiction books I'll read this year. Incredibly well-researched and detailed, but easy to understand by a layperson.
Distressing submitted by m steve on June 24, 2023, 7:48pm This is an eye opening narrative of how the Great Lakes have been adversely impacted by the Welland Canal and the introduction of exotics into them. The Lakes look so beautiful but there is bad news lurking below.
