Not what I thought submitted by TLW1998 on July 20, 2019, 7:40pm I thought this book would help kids learn to share, but I didn’t feel that way after reading it. I felt that it was poorly written.
lesson learned? submitted by FordAlpha on August 12, 2019, 10:10pm I enjoy the irony of Emily Gravett's work, which often has a bit of a dark twist to it. This book appears on the surface to have a simple message about the importance of sharing with friends, and perhaps about forgiveness, but right at the end when it seems the lesson is learned, the illustration suggests that the characters still have a ways to go. The text is extremely simple, with only a few words used to construct the declarative sentences. It's okay, but neither among the strongest of Emily Gravett's work nor among the best picture books for teaching the concept of sharing with friends.
