The Story Doesn't Connect to the Metaphor submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:34am I love the idea of this book, and I especially enjoyed the iterative and warm quality of Mae Besom’s illustrations, but I never quite understood the full connection between the literal story and the metaphor it builds on. This book might be better suited to newer readers, who might not take it so literally, and if nothing else its tone of gentle encouragement should spark some self-confidence in shy or otherwise reticent readers who need a gentle push to feel comfortable nurturing their own ideas.

Very Subtle submitted by GSchne on July 23, 2022, 9:50pm I like the idea of this book more than the book itself, I think. The illustrations are nice and the lesson is good, but the story wasn't enough to keep my young kid engaged.
