In a world divided by blood--those with common, Red blood serve the Silver-blooded elite, who are gifted with superhuman abilities--seventeen-year-old Mare, a Red, discovers she has an ability of her own. To cover up this impossibility, the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. But Mare risks everything and uses her new position to help the Scarlet Guard --a growing Red rebellion--even as her heart tugs her in an impossible direction.

Okay submitted by lec.dank on June 17, 2016, 2:46pm Nothing special. Most of the time, I was just thinking "I've seen this before...". Plot twist made up for some of it.

Good submitted by steveiew on June 24, 2016, 2:00pm Though the story of someone from a lower class getting promoted to a higher one has been somewhat overdone as of late, Red Queen is still a good story with some excellent twists thrown in.

original submitted by kzheng on July 9, 2016, 5:07pm The idea of castes and inequality as been around almost as along as mankind. What if we were segregated by the color of liquid inside us? Something we could not see. Mare is a lower caste, a red, with abilities she shouldn't have.

Great submitted by readingqueen76 on June 17, 2017, 4:28pm I really enjoyed the book! I would definitely recommend if you like dystopian, romance, betrayal, action, and blood. Its kind of like an elevated hunger games.

Awesome! submitted by FairyWings on June 18, 2017, 9:08am This book has everything, war, romance, magic-ish, and more! It was an awesome read.

REALLY GOOD submitted by GwenC on July 10, 2017, 9:27am I thought this book was very good. Can't wait to finish series

Amazing! submitted by tess_ on June 15, 2018, 2:57pm I loved this book! I was interested by every single page I read. If you like The Hunger Games, I totally recommend this book!!!

Best New Trilogy To Come Out Since Hunger Games etc... submitted by hvongpra on July 8, 2018, 9:24pm The writer really pulls a variety of plot points and character personalities from various series. It's a bit of a PG rated Game of Thrones meets Hunger Games meets The Selection.

I Love This Book submitted by sseaver on July 18, 2018, 9:20pm I couldn't stop reading this book. Ages 10+ who love adventure, romance, fantasy, and a character who felt like she doesn't fit in, would also enjoy this book. At first it was another book for book club, somewhat boring, but then after chapter 2-3 it pulled me in and I could not put the book down. This was one of my absolute favorite books.

Not for me submitted by Jinxyluis on July 21, 2018, 12:11pm I found this book kind of trope heavy and lacking something to make me really excited

I love it!!! submitted by dragon_rider13 on July 31, 2018, 10:02pm This book is very exciting and a great first book in an amazing series

awesome book, the second was better submitted by Family_Coffman on August 11, 2018, 9:45am it kept me glued to the page

amazing submitted by lunamoon on August 21, 2018, 8:57pm amazing

Incredible submitted by lstorc on August 26, 2018, 3:03pm This was an imaginative, if not sometimes gory read. While not extensively thought-provoking, it does bring to light basic racial issues in a fantasy setting.

Red Queen submitted by i'm a blobfish on June 15, 2019, 11:46am So good! I really liked this book. The main character is a girl with red blood. Only royalty is gifted with silver blood that allows them to use mysterious powers, or are they the only ones? Mare is discovered to be able to use these powers while red flows through her veins. She is brought to the capital and trained to use them. Follow her as she weaves through a story of love and betrayal.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!! submitted by Miriam Wasserman on June 21, 2019, 7:57am Five stars, this book has a balanced amount of romance, action, and just.... life

Great submitted by c_zhang on June 27, 2019, 11:43pm I love the pacing and the action in this book. There are twists everywhere, and it keeps you on your toes. However, there are a lot of cliches and overused tropes within the characters and story. A good read nontheless.

Another super powers book submitted by tbbrown76 on July 15, 2019, 10:28pm But, it's nicely woven together and has some very satisfying moments. And a few betrayals. Very fast paced. Hard to put down. Recommended.

Nice submitted by Liana Z on July 30, 2019, 9:17am This book was a great read, although it was somewhat boring-ish.

loved it submitted by autumnmist on August 11, 2019, 6:09pm <a href="https://imgur.com/82LQiah"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/82LQiah.gif" title="source: imgur.com" /></a>

I absolutely loved this book. The twists the turns, the plot, and the predictable betrayal. I couldn't get enough of it! I was like a fat kid with cake.

At first it was a slow read but I powered through it and I was quite excited that I did. I like Mare. However, her character made me mad most of the book because she was so willing to trust. Girl, even I know that good looking, brave, perfect men (or boys depending on your age) are the bad guy.... Uh duh.

When will these women learn!

Rating.... Five star.
Time to read : 3 days.

Awesome! submitted by Gladman on June 19, 2020, 8:48am This book was really good! I would recommend it! While a bit slow at first, it was still great.

Okay? submitted by madagascar on May 4, 2021, 9:09pm I mean its kinda . . . . whats the wordd? Well its like you can guess what happens? Well its one of those books and yeh I mean its pretty good, I read reviews on the second. They say the first one was better, haven't read it yet :P

exciting read submitted by angie. on July 21, 2021, 10:18am This book was really fun to read! It was kind of easy to guess what happens, but loved the detail

Awesome plot twist submitted by Jinxuan Duan on July 21, 2021, 10:19am One of the most interesting things about Red queen series is the plot twist and cliffhanger and the end of each book. It makes the reader want to keep reading and find out what happens. Awesome novel btw, highly recommend it :)

hard to put down! submitted by maizl on August 7, 2022, 7:40pm really good read, I finished it in two days because I couldn't put it down! The premise is a bit cliche and sometimes the author's writing is a bit unclear and it's either hard to understand or visualize, but overall I was still thoroughly entertained and will be reading the entire series!

Didn't finish submitted by Droeske1 on March 18, 2024, 5:00pm I wanted to like this book because a coworker recommended it. I however couldn't help but notice it was basically a carbon copy of the Hunger Games early on and simply couldn't finish it
