wonderful story submitted by camelsamba on June 24, 2014, 12:49pm I was wandering around Nicola's Books, looking for a gift for a very Mo-like 5th grade girl, when a display of this book caught my eye. And even better, they were signed by the author! My youngest son and I had convinced his 4th grade teacher to read Three Times Lucky to his class last year, so I knew birthday girl was familiar with Mo. Needless to say, I grabbed a copy for her and one for us. I'm so glad I did, because I enjoyed this even more that Three Times Lucky. It can be read independently of Three Times Lucky.

Friendship is a powerful theme in this book, also acceptance, abandonment, and family. I really like Dale - how he fractures idioms, how he has to be warned off rhetorical questions, how he knew exactly the right thing to say to help Mr Red deal with The Incident.
