Amazing! submitted by Neerja Garikipati on April 29, 2012, 6:03pm I won this in the raffle at the LSNC, and it is the best thing EVER!!!!!

amazing aadl submitted by drewy234432 on June 16, 2012, 10:53am this is amazing that the aadl lend people telescope. way to go AADL.

Cool and Fun submitted by David Marshall on July 3, 2012, 3:36pm I borrowed this recently and had a blast showing it off to my friends and family. It was especially cool to see the moon's face change up close from day to day. Get one!

YAY submitted by liyuxing on July 29, 2012, 8:17pm GREAT

Neat submitted by jarroyo on June 19, 2013, 11:21pm It's really neat that the library lends out telescopes. When we borrowed it my son was super excited to see things through it. I had a bit of trouble finding things, but my husband was able to find a star and the moon which was really neat to see.

Amazing submitted by Chris82 on July 10, 2013, 3:25pm This is one of the best items available at the library. When I got it, it was easy to set up and use and worked perfectly. I can't wait to use it again.

Awesome submitted by garapatisriram on July 17, 2013, 1:47pm I can see faraway stars and constellations with this telescope thanks to aadl.

telescope submitted by unknown on August 10, 2013, 9:22pm This was really useful in watching the Perseids Meteor Shower. Thanks, AADL!

!!!! submitted by monus on December 3, 2013, 5:43pm CANT WAIT TO GET IT IN 111TH HOLD OUT OF 141

Can't Wait!!! submitted by sophiemarie on May 11, 2014, 3:52pm I can't wait to get this telescope! It looks really cool! I cannot imagine a library except for aadl that would have telescopes to borrow! AADL, you rock!

CAN"T WAIT!!!! submitted by xiwang on June 15, 2014, 7:07pm THANK YOU SO MUCH AADL! YOU GIVE US AMAZING THINGS!!!!!!!!

Loved It submitted by monkk on June 19, 2014, 1:37pm Brought this up north for a weekend with friends and everyone had a good time looking through it to see the stars. Here's a tip though- it's a lot easier to use if you aren't right out of a lighted room or staring into the fire. Get your eyes used to the dark before you look through, and you'll see more stuff!

nice! submitted by tianf on June 20, 2014, 4:56pm I can see stars in it!

terrific! submitted by smgop on June 22, 2014, 9:42am I contemplated checking this out last summer - but was afraid I would break it!!! What a neat item to have for patrons to use

the best! submitted by sophia_2005 on July 18, 2014, 4:27pm It cam magnify the moon so much, you can even count the craters!

Better for the moon and planets. submitted by tbbrown76 on July 26, 2014, 10:24pm I thought it was a bit clunky, too.

Excellent for viewing the Solar System submitted by circuit on November 4, 2014, 9:39am You can see the larger moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, the phases of Venus, and the craters on the Moon.

Cool! submitted by MCharania on June 25, 2015, 7:52pm It is so cool that aadl is letting us borrow these things, and it's a great experience!

Stars submitted by tshish on August 2, 2015, 4:11am Really cool. However missing instructions.

Terrific scope! submitted by nina mendelson on August 5, 2015, 2:51pm I'll be returning it tomorrow, sadly, because it's been really fun to use. It's a great scope and easy to use, particularly if you take a minute to read the directions. AADL, how wonderful that you make this available to anyone with a library card!

Awesome submitted by cynthiaredinger on August 28, 2015, 8:43pm Seriously, does it get any better than this. It's so great to be able to access this type of scientific equipment from the library.

Great in winter submitted by Momellar on July 9, 2016, 12:46pm Fun to use in winter when it's dark earlier and sky is clear.

Awesome, high-quality telescope! submitted by doctorfang on August 2, 2016, 8:24pm These telescopes rock! We've seen Jupiter, close-ups of the craters on the moon, Venus, Mars, and the Milky Way -- all thanks to these telescope.

Great for Ametuers or Newbies submitted by jgerman79 on August 21, 2016, 8:44pm I've borrowed this two times, and got two different ones of the same model. The first was AMAZING. Saw three of Jupiter's Moons in orbit around it! Saw Saturn, like actual with ring(s)!!! And the full moon was astounding (once I got past the light blindness)!

However, the second one was fuzzier when looking at Jupiter and its moons. There was so noticeable a difference between the two telescopes I was disappointed enough with the second that I didn't even try to see other planets, just tried looking at stars trying to find nebulae (I didn't).

Waiting on borrowing for a third time. Hoping for one of the better ones!

UPDATE:
The third time I had one of these telescopes was just as much fun as the first time! Turns out, the second telescope wasn't worse than the first, the Earth had moved farther away from Jupiter, making it harder to see of course!

Cool! submitted by KOH on August 2, 2017, 7:40pm I was a total beginner but was able to use this telescope. It was super fun for me and my family!

Review by a 6 year old submitted by beeniepie on August 10, 2017, 2:50pm This telescope is really cool because you can look at all kinds of things, even like some stars. It has a viewing laser so you can point it at what you want to see.

yay submitted by palanijr on August 15, 2017, 7:29am this telescope was relly good

Awesome tool! submitted by vulke99 on July 30, 2018, 10:17am It is awesome our library has a telescope that we can check out!

Fantastico! submitted by julian.chase on August 11, 2018, 8:46am Thank you AADL for providing cool science tools I can borrow instead of buying.

awesome submitted by bmurphy on August 16, 2018, 11:52am five star

Amazing submitted by JY 2005 on August 25, 2018, 11:04pm The telescope is easy to use and I could see the stars very clearly. It's amazing how AADL can provide these tools for everyone so we don't have to buy them ourselves! Thank you AADL!

Telescope submitted by c_zhang on June 19, 2019, 1:19am I love stargazing, and I think it's cool how the AADL can provide us with these types of tools.

Telescope submitted by Varshini on June 24, 2019, 8:09pm I really liked looking at the stars through this telescope. It was easy and fun.

Awesome submitted by KatyaS on July 12, 2019, 12:11am I really liked looking at the stars! Cool telescope!

Loved it!!! submitted by pchima on July 23, 2019, 5:06pm My daughter loved it

AA stars submitted by Adam Graham on August 3, 2019, 12:34am Our library is the coolest! This is super fun to bring home and play with looking at the stars!

Telescope submitted by Clown81 on August 31, 2019, 5:02pm Had one once.

Read Telescope user guide submitted by Michael Flynn on September 3, 2019, 3:33pm Telescope can be challenging to use. There is no tall tripod, so I prefer to place it at table height before stooping to view. More fun if you read the AADL's excellent user guide first.
Moon is easy to find through scope and is terrificly detailed and crisp when it is not a full moon. Shadows in craters help plus the full moon can be obnoxiously bright through this telescope.
Light from our sun bouncing off Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons, all the way back to Earth, through the scope and into my eyeball without any digital in mediation is really an amazing experience.

Ye submitted by maxence07 on June 15, 2020, 10:18pm Works very welll

Great! submitted by DaemonEye on July 20, 2020, 9:34am Great telescope for starting out looking at the stars. Had to replace the battery in the scope, but it still worked well.

Great Quality submitted by Whitetnchina on July 22, 2020, 9:59am I just can't believe you can order this from the library!

Good for kids submitted by Sudar82 on December 21, 2020, 7:02pm It’s a very good teaching instrument for kids. My only gripe is that in the one I got today , the red dot finder does not align with the eyepiece. Also the threads on the eyepiece are worn out and it does not fit welll.

good submitted by .-.-.-. on June 14, 2021, 9:46pm Good library item. Comes with plenty of equipment for use. It is a good telescope, but you should read the guide first. Really cool item, recommend this.

Telescope submitted by avrogers1 on June 16, 2021, 12:11am This is a great tool and its wonderful that tjese are availible. These are fasinating to look thru especially at night.

So much fun and easy to use! submitted by bahr on June 15, 2022, 1:46pm The telescope was fantastic! It was so great to see the features on the moon and look at some stars! The planets rose too late when we borrowed it so I definitely plan to request it again!

It was very easy to use with the included directions. It was such a great way to bring some science into our home!

Great for groups submitted by timbresson on June 19, 2022, 9:27pm When pairing with some kind of constellation finder / star-gazing app, you and a group of friends can see if you can zoom in on some of the great celestial objects of our universe! It's no Webb deep-space telescope, but it will allow you to see the Milky Way given the right amount of darkness (take it on a camping trip!)

A must have submitted by crp on August 4, 2022, 9:37pm If you are looking at the summer skies, this is a must have!

Amazing submitted by shannon5 on August 27, 2023, 8:22am I’m grateful to be a part of a library community that offers this kind of rental! My friends and I were doubtful we’d see anything on our first try as amateur astronomers but we actually saw Saturn in West Park! Highly recommend.
