so so submitted by qfaro1 on June 25, 2011, 6:28pm The middle of this book is a little boring, but manageble.

brilliant submitted by Zhengyang1022 on July 14, 2011, 4:03pm The book would've been perfect if the beginning was more exciting. Its still an awesome book.

Cool submitted by Memoria1224 on July 21, 2011, 1:01pm This book is really exciting!

Eldest submitted by Smileyfrowns on July 31, 2011, 7:57pm Pretty good, but this seems to be the more serious of the 3 books out so far..

Still pretty good submitted by kittenkat101 on June 17, 2012, 7:26pm The second book in the series about boy and dragon still managed to captivate me with fantasy adventure. It is very reminiscent of other fantasy genres, but still adds new twists.

great submitted by tawesomenessk on June 25, 2012, 7:17pm great book

Best book in the series! submitted by xiwang on June 28, 2013, 5:17pm This was an amazing book the whole way. Great big battle at the end. Loved it!!!!

Decent submitted by foxridgect on July 29, 2013, 8:55pm It was very long, and it was probably my least favorite of the series.

second.. submitted by KSB2013 on June 17, 2014, 8:50pm The second book in the 4 book series - good for pre teens and teens. age content good with higher lexile ranges. Great for those who like magical and creative books outside the mainstream.

My Favorite Book of the Series submitted by Ayaldia3600 on June 18, 2014, 11:40am The second book of the Inheritance Cycle. Awesome book with a lot of action. Has a brilliant plot twist ;)

Interesting enough submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on July 10, 2014, 1:51pm Look! It's the second Star Wars movie in book form with dragons!

Well, it kind of is. This is the part of the story when the main characters, Eragon and his dragon Saphira, go off to learn to master their magic from a hidden master. Interesting enough, I suppose. What I think the author did well was begin to break up Eragon's story with his cousin Roran's story, which allowed for some action and for the larger story of what's happening in the Empire to continue.

Great Second Book submitted by downing on June 18, 2016, 12:52pm This is probably my favorite one of the series.

Ok..... submitted by sophia_2005 on August 1, 2017, 10:11am Not as good as the first.

GOODBOOK submitted by msarah on August 19, 2017, 8:12am I liked this book as much as the first, but there was not as much adventure in it.

Fun submitted by lballard on June 15, 2018, 3:02pm This is a fun coming of age fantasy novel. It shows how events can shape people’s abilities by creating a need for them to lead.

Great Sequel submitted by steveiew on June 27, 2018, 11:07am One of the great things about this book is that you get to see the story from Roran's point of view as well as Eragon's. It's a great story of magic and resistance.

Good! submitted by elta1 on August 11, 2018, 9:00pm A really great series!!

Eldest submitted by amtorrey on July 19, 2022, 3:06pm Great second book in the series. It's nice to see perspectives of the multiple characters.
